Reading the scriptures is a priority in our house.  Because of the attention level of some of the younger members in our family, K to be exact, we tend to keep our study short--as in a verse per person.

K will soon be learning to read. One of the things that we found helpful with T was when we were reading the scriptures together was repeating the most often repeated parts of the verses together. Our family favorite to repeat together was "and it came to pass."  We don't just say it humbly and quietly, we make a big deal out of it.  To say we say it with great gusto and joy.  I look forward to scripture reading partly because of that.

K loves to do this and often gets to be the "reader" of such passages.  The other night as she was saying her personal prayers she said, "Dear Heavenly Father,  AND IT CAME TO PASS, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I am glad she connects reading the scriptures about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to prayer and speaking with them.  Ma-a-a-aybe we should work on what to say in prayers and exactly what "and it came to pass" means.  Hahaha.
