Silver Falls

When K had hand, foot, and mouth disease at the beginning of February, there was a day that every one felt lousy, at least for the first hour until school had started.
Very suspicious, I can tell you.
We decided to do a day of nature appreciation and headed to Silver Falls, which is located in one of the most beautiful and scenic parts of Oregon.
It was beautiful! We met some of the local wildlife that watched us as much as we watched them.

We sang "I am a Child of God."  This helped us remember how incredibly blessed we are to have these wonders so close to us.

Took a lot of photos.
Stood all amazed at the love we've been given.

Found more waterfalls, bugs, and snails.
K had a book with her purse securely on her arm for the whole walk.  She loves that purse.

Then we went to the big falls that you can usually walk under, but on this day there were logs falling down it so they weren't letting people go under it.

But we did get the opportunity to take photos on the other side of the canyon from it.
These are the days that I think homeschooling but be magical and I long to do it because we learn and appreciate so much when we go to see these marvelous things and recognize a few more of the blessings we  have been given in such abundance.  All but R went to school the next day (and of course, not K. She's not old enough yet).
